FAQS

Here are answers to some common questions.

  • How much do you charge for therapy and/or coaching?

For therapy services $165 for 50-minute sessions in person or telehealth. I do offer a limited number of sliding scale fees when they become available. I accept cash, checks, cards and Zelle. Fees are due at the time that services are rendered for therapy.

For coaching services, I offer a couple of different options:

    Packages

    $250 2 session

    $450 4 sessions

    $700 6 sessions

For coaching, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the package is due to hold your scheduled dates and the remainder is due 48 hours prior to our first session.

There is no refund for any services rendered.

I understand that sometimes we need help sooner rather than later and I do not want money to stand in the way of you receiving care. I am always willing to have a conversation and see if we can come up with a solution that will work for your needs.

  • Do you offer telehealth sessions?

I do offer telehealth counseling appointments. Before we have our first appointment, I will send you an email with instructions on how we will me. By law, in order for us to conduct telehealth therapy services you MUST be a resident of the state of California.

All coaching sessions are done virtually and you can be a resident of any state.

If technical difficulties take place while we are in session, I will contact you and we will figure out the best way to proceed

  • What is your cancellation policy for therapy? Is there one for coaching?

I completely understand that sometimes life happens, and we have no control over it. If you need to cancel a session for therapy, I require that you notify me 24 hours prior to our scheduled appointment time by email or text message.

If I have not heard from you 24 hours prior or you do not show up for your appointment, you will be charged your full fee amount. If there is an emergency, typically I will try to offer another time slot for that week. If I am unable to do so, the cancelation policy stand.

For coaching, since you have already paid for your time spots, there is no refund or cancellation policy. However, I will allow a 1 time reschedule.

  • Do you accept insurance for therapy or coaching?

For therapy, I am considered an out of network provider. I can provide you with a superbill at the end of each month.

Most PPO insurances accept superbills, but you will need to verify this with your insurance company. A superbill is an invoice that you submit to insurance show that you had a therapy session, not what took place during the session. You are responsible for paying for the therapy service and insurance would reimburse you. I would call your insurance company to make sure they accept superbills from a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

For coaching, insurance currently does not cover this service.

  • Are you a Christian faith-based therapist and coach?

My personal philosophy and therapy/coaching style is to meet people where they are in all walks of life. Whether spiritually is highly important to you and you would like it integrated it into sessions or you would rather keep religion out of our session, I allow you to lead. I am here to best support you. I identify as Christian and received my master’s at a faith-based school, but I do not have training in theology. I do not offer pastoral counseling because that is not within my scope of practice.

  • How long does therapy normally take?

It depends upon each client, but this is the structure I typically follow unless there is some circumstance that we have discussed prior. We will meet 4 weeks consistently to and then reevaluate if we should continue to meet weekly or move it to biweekly sessions. At the 12-week mark, we will see where we are with progress and decide where to go from there.

I will say this. Most of my clients see results quicker when they are coming in weekly, but ultimately, we will do whatever is best for you.

  • Do you offer in-person sessions?

I do have some in person sessions, but they are only available in the morning. When we have our phone consultation, please let me know if this is something you are interested in and I can let you know what times and days I have available.

All coaching sessions are done virtually.

  • What is the difference between therapy and coaching ?

Therapy focuses on treating mental illness such as anxiety, depression, and other significant emotional and relational concerns. Sessions are focused on reflection, healing, and understanding emotional pain. They also focus on changing how you feel and helping you understand how you got there.

Coaching focuses on helping you perform better in a specific area, such as personal or parenting growth. With coaching we will create a vision for what's possible and work together to develop a plan to get there. Coaching also focus on changing how you act and helping you understand what works and what doesn’t.

  • What does a phone consultation look like for therapy and/or coaching?

When I receive a message, email, or phone call from you, I will schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation. Here are some things I typically go over:

    • Ask how’s your day going?
    • Ask some questions, seeing in a general sense what your goals are for therapy or coaching.
    • Get a better understanding of what you are wanting your life to look like after therapy and/or coaching.
    • What does your availability look like to make sure our schedules line up.
    • Review fees and packages to see what a good fit for you will be.
    • See if you have any questions about me or my style of therapy and/or coaching.
